Role and Responsibilities :
We are looking for a skilled test engineer to join our Db2 for z/OS team, focusing on the Query Accelerator component. In this role, you will be part of the System Verification Test (SVT) team, responsible for stress testing new features and fixes for customer issues. Sometimes, you will help recreate problems that customers report. and you have to solve the lots of problems .Our SVT engineers have a broad understanding of Db2 for z/OS and work on creating and maintaining applications, workloads, and automation in a native z/OS environment.
As a Test Engineer on our Db2 for z/OS team, you will be responsible for various critical tasks. You will work closely with the development team to understand new features, enabling you to modify existing workloads or create new ones for thorough testing. Being involved early in the ‘design thinking’ process, you will integrate test requirements from the start. Your duties will include rigorous stress testing of newly developed features and fixes for customer-reported issues, ensuring the product’s robustness and reliability.
Your main duties will include working closely with the development team to understand new features, allowing you to modify existing workloads or create new ones for testing. Db2 for z/OS uses the ‘design thinking’ process, so our SVT engineers are involved early in the design process to understand test requirements. You will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the test systems that run these workloads and you have maintain all the resourcesAdditionally, you will monitor and maintain the test systems to ensure optimal performance. Developing and maintaining applications, workloads, and automation scripts in a native z/OS environment will be a key part of your role. .
Db2 for z/OS is IBM’s premier enterprise relational database management system, renowned for its ability to store and manage mission-critical data. It is considered the “gold standard” for system availability, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. The Query Accelerator component, also known as IDAA (IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator), is a replicated and synchronized instance of a Db2 database. It is highly optimized for the rapid execution of complex queries and can run on a separate Linux or z/OS machine Occasionally, you will assist in recreating customer-reported problems to identify and resolve root causes effectively.
